Do you repair computers and Laptops? Turn around Time?

The Computer Corrector provides computer repair services to our clients. The standard turn around time is 2 hours, and up to 48 hours.

Do you make house calls?

We can dispatch our technicians to your home or business to fix any problems you may have. We just request you schedule an appointment as far in advance as possible.

How much do you charge to look at my computer and tell me whats wrong with it?

Diagnosis and advice is free! Email or call and describe the issues to one of the technicians, that will then assess your issues.

We will do our best to give you an upfront cost of what services will be required.

If I can’t be without a computer while mine is being fixed, can you offer me a rental?

Yes, we have a limited number of loan laptops the are available when your computer/laptop is being serviced. This comes at no additional cost to our services.

What are Support plans?

The Support plan utilities a software tool and service that is used to monitor and maintain the health and performance of your computer to proactively eliminate problems.

Are there training sessions I can purchase in how to use my computer or tablet?

Yes there are. Send us an email or call us up and we can book you an appointment with one of our specialists.

I am not the most computer literate person, do you offer tutoring?

Yes. We offer one on one tutoring on site, on a number of topics. Anything technology related, we can help. Let us know what you are interested in learning and we can create a curriculum for you.

I accidentally deleted some important files, is there anyway to get them back?

Yes, in many cases we can recover deleted data on site. If you are in this predicament, we recommend you stop using the computer immediately. The more you use the computer after you deleted the files the more difficult it becomes and less likely we can achieve the results you desire. Again, stop using the computer immediately and give The Computer Corrector a call or email for your best chances of recovery.

Viruses crashed my computer; can I get any of my data back?

In almost every case the answer to this question is yes. It should be noted that it is never possible to guarantee full data recovery, but it is rare that most if not all of the data from a dead computer can be recovered.

How do I make my computer faster?

Possible Causes

1. Too many programs run at startup
2. File transfer is slow
3. Slow to load files
4. Older computer

Solutions:

1. Limit/ disable unwanted Startup Processes
2. Defrag HDD and/ or install a SSD
3. Declutter and organise your files.
   Remove temoprary files
4. Install more RAM and/or a new Operating System

My computer has shut down completely.

Possible Causes

1. Not plugged into a power source
2. Power supply needs resetting
3. Power supply failure
4. Other component failure in computer

Solutions:

1. Plug it into a reliable power source
2. Unplug, reset and retry
3. Replace the Power supply unit
4. Troubleshoot and replace the component

My computer is operating slowly.

Possible Causes:

1. Too many programmes installed/ running
2. Infected by Malware and Viruses
3. Insufficient RAM
4. Computer struggles to run newer software

Solutions:

1. Uninstall unused programmes
   or upgrade hard disk drive
2. Remove the Malware and Viruses
3. Install more RAM
4. Think about a hardware upgrade

Poor web browsing experience?

Possible Causes

1. Out of date Internet Browser
2. Pop ups and ads
3. Tracking technologies

Solutions:

1. Download and use Firefox or Chrome
2. Install the uBlock Origin browser extention
3. Install the Ghostery browser extention

What kind of computer will work for me?
